In a recent development, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has officially disowned two female students who were paraded in Abuja on Wednesday in connection with the alleged murder of a hotel manager in the state capital. According to the institution, these individuals had been previously rusticated from the polytechnic due to poor academic performance.

The Public Relations Officer of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Halimat Garba, issued a press statement to clarify the situation. The statement, titled “Re: How we killed Club owner in Hotel – Female Student,” emphasized that the two students, Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa, had been withdrawn from the school after their first year due to academic struggles. As a result, they are no longer affiliated with the institution.

The polytechnic’s management firmly asserted that its students are expected to be exemplary ambassadors of both the institution and the nation as a whole, and they should not engage in dishonorable or criminal activities of any kind.

During their initial apprehension and subsequent police parade, one of the suspects, Adama, admitted to having a previous sexual relationship with the deceased hotel manager. She went on to explain that their intent that day was to steal from him. When their attempts failed, they resorted to drugging him and ultimately departed with his phone and other valuables, only to later discover his death.

It’s worth noting that the Nigeria Police Force had arrested the two females, Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour, on charges of robbery and the murder of Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, a prominent Kwara socialite and Managing Director of Water View Hotel in Ilorin.
