Adesuwa Aighewi was born in Minneapolis to a Nigerian father and a Thai-born Chinese mother, and spent much of her childhood in Nigeria. A former chemistry student who once interned at NASA, she was scouted on her university campus.
She built a leading runway and campaign career, walking for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Alexander Wang and Kenzo and appearing in advertising for Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang. Models.com has ranked her among its Top 50.
Aighewi is also a filmmaker and writer, using her platform to explore self-expression and racial diversity in the fashion industry.
