Atiku condemns Benue blockade of Peter Obi's humanitarian visit

ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has condemned the violent disruption that stopped NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi from entering Benue State for a humanitarian outreach in Yelwata.

Suspected thugs reportedly blocked Obi’s route on Tuesday, preventing him from reaching bereaved families affected by earlier attacks in the community. The Benue State Government denied any involvement, saying it was unaware of the visit.

In a statement by his spokesperson Kenneth Okonkwo, Atiku described the incident as “unacceptable, anti-democratic and deeply shameful,” and called on the authorities to investigate, hold those responsible accountable, and guarantee the freedom of political leaders to move and work without intimidation.
