Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi found the net as Nottingham Forest defeated Blackburn Rovers 3-0 in a pre-season friendly staged in Portugal on Tuesday.
The result formed part of Forest’s build-up to the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, with the squad currently based in the Algarve region for training.
Igor Jesus broke the deadlock shortly before the interval to hand Nuno Espirito Santo’s men the lead.
The second half saw the visitors pull further clear as Arnaud Kalimuendo and Awoniyi struck in quick succession to complete the scoring.
The comfortable win was Forest’s second on the bounce, coming after a 2-0 success against Notts County.
Forest will continue their preparations with a behind-closed-doors fixture against Vitoria S.C. before rounding off their programme against Sporting CP on July 31.
