President Bola Tinubu visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island on Sunday, in a stop that drew crowds of supporters and residents along the route.
Members of the royal household and well-wishers, including All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, lined the streets around Marina and Isale Eko as the presidential convoy made its way to the palace, creating a festive mood across parts of the island.
At the palace, Oba Akiolu prayed for the President, his government and the country, and offered counsel on national issues and citizen welfare — a reminder of how traditional institutions continue to engage directly with the federal government on matters affecting ordinary Nigerians.
