The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has hit back at Labour Party’s Peter Obi over suggestions that President Bola Tinubu is worn out and should step aside ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking on Channels Television, Yilwatda dismissed the claim, asking how a president who, in his words, stays and works from morning till night could be described as tired. He insisted the president remains fully engaged in the business of governance.
The APC chairman pointed to what he called evidence of delivery, citing beneficiaries of the National Education Loan Fund and projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, new seaports and ongoing airport upgrades as proof the administration is focused on results.
His remarks were a direct response to Obi, the former Anambra governor, who had argued in a recent interview that Tinubu lacks the capacity to keep leading Nigeria and should retire.
