The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Bilyaminu Aliyu Shinkafi as the ADC governorship candidate in Zamfara State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Shinkafi’s name appeared on the final list of candidates displayed at INEC’s state office in Gusau on Saturday, appearing to settle the party’s internal ticket dispute.
The crisis began when the state chairman announced Ibrahim Salisu Mafara as the candidate; INEC’s confirmation now clears Shinkafi to run.
He will face Governor Dauda Lawal of the APC and other parties’ candidates in 2027, and commended INEC for upholding due process.
