Davidson Obennebo was a final-year university student when he was scouted on Instagram by Beth Model Africa in 2016. Months later, at just 20, he won the Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria and then the global Elite Model Look World Final in Lisbon.
His victory made history as the first Black male winner of the competition in its more than three decades. The title launched an immediate career surge, with the six-foot-three model opening and closing for Versace and walking Balmain, Givenchy and Issey Miyake.
