The Federal Government says it has launched a crackdown on large-scale energy theft along the 132kV Ikorodu–Sagamu corridor, where losses have hit 100 megawatts and an estimated N120 billion a year.
Power Minister Joseph Tegbe announced the move at a stakeholders meeting with industrial operators and regulators in Lagos.
He ordered a transparent, data-driven investigation into the gap between electricity transmitted along the axis and what distribution companies actually bill.
Tegbe said monitoring tools had exposed serious commercial losses, insisting that steady power must be matched with accurate billing.
