Updates on Ikare Akoko’ Crises (Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo)

…Says Ikare Is An Economic Stream For Other Akoko Towns.

Member representing Akoko North East/ Akoko North West at the Green Chamber, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has charged the residents and leaders of Ikare Akoko to embrace peace and allow the town fulfil its potentials.

In a statement by his Special Advisor on New Media, Alao Babatunde, the Lawmaker noted that the economy of other communities in Akoko and other neighbouring towns will be affected if the crisis in the town is not quickly nipped in the bud.

The state government recently imposed a 24-hour curfew in the town over a crisis that has led to the destruction of valuable properties.

According to BTO, “Ikare people are known to be peaceful and accommodating. This is evident in the way investors from various walks of life love to site their businesses in the town.

“The town, once adjudged the economic stream of the state, has sadly been affected by needless crisis. This crisis will inevitably, affect other Akoko towns as Ikare still holds a powerful place in the economy of the state and significantly, Akoko as a nation.

“I urge all stakeholders to close ranks and give peace a chance. We cannot afford to lose our status as peaceful and loving people.

“I plead with the residents to see beyond violence as a tool for solving issues and give dialogue a chance,” he concluded.
