Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister Festus Keyamo has criticised the disruption of Peter Obi’s planned visit to Benue State, insisting it should not be tolerated in a democracy.
In a post on X, Keyamo said that regardless of whether the incident stemmed from internal NDC disagreements, as the state government suggested, or was sponsored by a rival party, preventing anyone from moving about freely is unacceptable.
He acknowledged claims that the visit to Yelwata was politically motivated but maintained that such allegations did not justify blocking the former Anambra governor. “Everyone should be allowed to move about freely and play their politics without such crude interference,” he said, while also calling for consistency and fairness in how such incidents are reported.
