Marvel Studios made its return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 count, packing its panel with new film reveals and surprise appearances that sent fans into a frenzy.
Among the biggest surprises was the confirmation of a standalone Ghost Rider film, with Ryan Gosling cast in the lead and Shawn Levy directing. Gosling and Levy shocked attendees by turning up in person to break the news, with the movie set to reach cinemas in 2028.
Marvel also confirmed ‘Black Panther 3’ for December 15, 2028. Rather than recast T’Challa, the studio will have his son inherit the mantle, with David Jonsson taking the lead role under returning director Ryan Coogler.
A new ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer centred on Doctor Doom’s origin, narrated by Sue Storm, and showed the villain resurrecting fallen Sentinel robots. Ryan Reynolds also made a comedic cameo as Deadpool, and Kevin Feige confirmed a Nova movie is in development.
The reveals underscored Marvel’s push to rebuild momentum heading into its next slate of tentpole releases.
