Enyimba assistant coach Lawrence Ukaegbu says the nine-time NPFL champions are regaining their competitive edge after a 2-0 home win over 10-man Plateau United at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday.
The result was Enyimba’s second straight win of the season and leaves the Aba side unbeaten in their last three league games, pulling them out of the relegation zone. Ifeanyi Ihemekwele opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, with Richard Ezinwa doubling the lead in the 66th minute.
“We have returned to our best form, and I can assure you of this. Our success has been built on consistency and the players’ commitment to working as one unit,” Ukaegbu told reporters after the match, adding that the squad now has a clear understanding of what’s expected of them.
