Spain have become the second team to qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, beating Croatia 2-1 on Tuesday night behind a brace from Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino.
The win took Spain to 12 points from four fixtures, joining Portugal, who sealed their spot last week, as the only two sides to have won every game so far.
Two more rounds will be played between November 12 and 17 to determine the rest of the quarter-finalists, with the draw following in late March 2027 and semi-finals set for June 2027. The two worst third-placed teams and two best fourth-placed teams will contest a play-off to avoid the drop, while the two worst fourth-placed sides are relegated automatically.
