Nollywood actor Zuby Michael has offered his view on why Igbo talents, in his opinion, receive limited support from industry gatekeepers and executives.
Speaking to Broadway TV, Michael claimed some executives are wary of Igbo performers because they fear being outshone.
“Igbo people are fast learners… what took you 10 years to learn, he will learn it in one year and six months,” he said, adding that mentees could quickly become competitors.
He argued that this fear of being outgrown — even among some Igbo executives — discourages support for Igbo talents.
