Aisha Yesufu slams blockade of Peter Obi in Benue

Activist and NDC member Aisha Yesufu has condemned the blockade that stopped Peter Obi from reaching the Yelwata IDP camp in Benue State.

Yesufu insisted that no individual or group has the right to decide where political figures can go, especially now that INEC has declared campaigning open. “How dare anybody stop anyone from moving to any part of the country to campaign?” she asked.

Obi, who described his visit as humanitarian rather than political, lamented the state of Nigerian politics after the disruption, which caused tension across the state on Tuesday.
