Plumptre Extends Al-Ittihad Stay With New Two-Year Deal

Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has put pen to paper on a fresh two-year deal with Saudi Women’s Premier League outfit Al-Ittihad Ladies, tying her to the club until 2028.

The defender agreed the extension after cementing her place as one of the standout figures at the Jeddah-based side since her arrival.

Plumptre first joined the Tigers on a free transfer from English club Leicester City in September 2023.

Her time in Saudi Arabia has been productive, with the 28-year-old racking up 15 goals and 19 assists across 41 appearances in all competitions.

The adaptable defender is presently working her way back from a foot injury that has sidelined her since March.

Because of that setback, she was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations so she can concentrate on regaining full fitness before the new campaign.

Plumptre was a central figure in the Super Falcons team that claimed a record-extending 10th WAFCON crown at the 2024 edition, underlining her importance to the national side.
