FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and several stakeholders of the Rivers State Rainbow Coalition have reportedly held a strategy meeting in Spain ahead of the 2027 general elections — without Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who recently aligned with the coalition.
Those said to have attended include SSDC’s Marcus Nle Ejii, UniPort Chancellor Senator Mao Ohabunwa, and APC governorship candidate Kingsley Chinda. The purpose of the meeting was not made public.
Wike had earlier named Chinda, a member of the House of Representatives, as his preferred successor to Fubara. INEC says campaigning for the February 6, 2027 governorship elections began on September 8.
