Adamawa man confesses to abducting niece to sell for N7m

A man in Adamawa State, Andrawus James, has allegedly confessed to abducting his 18-year-old niece after agreeing to sell her to a buyer for N7 million.

James is said to have taken the girl, identified as Fatima, intending to hand her over for the agreed sum.

A court presided over by Dorcas Marvin ordered him remanded and adjourned the case pending legal advice from the state prosecution department.

Prosecutors said the matter was reported after James approached a man, saying he wanted to get rich by selling his niece, and the two negotiated a price.
