Done Deal: Gift Orban Seals Loan Move to Turkey's Amedspor

Nigerian forward Gift Orban has finalised a loan switch to Turkish Super Lig outfit Amedspor, leaving Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim on a temporary basis.

The 22-year-old joins the Diyarbakir-based club in a deal that carries a purchase option, one that can turn into an obligation to buy should certain conditions be met.

Orban is no stranger to life away from Germany. He spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Italian club Hellas Verona, where he registered seven goals and two assists in 28 outings.

His numbers at Hoffenheim itself have been modest, with four goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances after arriving from French club Olympique Lyon in January 2025.

Hoffenheim sporting director Paul Pajduch explained the thinking behind the move, pointing to fresh interest generated by the striker’s form in Italy. “After his good scoring rate at Hellas Verona, we received several inquiries for him…he can demonstrate his qualities in an intensive league,” he said.

The Turkish top flight now offers Orban another chance to rediscover his sharpest form and rebuild his stock with regular football.
