Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad has warned members of the Obidient Movement against assuming that NDC candidate Peter Obi is guaranteed to come second in the 2027 election.
Writing on X, the former aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari said only “delusional” supporters would take such an outcome for granted, arguing that many do not grasp how the political game works.
He said online enthusiasm and sentiment were no substitute for a serious reading of the numbers, party structures, regional calculations and electoral realities.
Obi finished third in the 2023 presidential election.
