The Jigawa State Police Command has prosecuted 27 motorists arrested for various road traffic offences under its ongoing Operation Velvet.

Command spokesperson SP Shiisu Lawan Adam said the offences included overloading, driving without valid licences and using unauthorised tinted permits.

The motorists were arrested and their vehicles impounded during an enforcement drive across the state, before being charged in court.
