APC governorship candidate for Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), has revealed that he had planned to appoint the late veteran actor Ogogo as his special adviser on culture and tourism.
Speaking during a visit to Ogogo’s family at their Ilaro home, Yayi said the role would have been a full cabinet position had he won the election, adding that he had quietly held on to the plan.
Ogogo died at 66 on August 23, 2026 after a battle with cancer. During his illness, Yayi was among those who supported him financially, helping to cover his medical bills.
