Senator Lere Oyewumi has called for an independent investigation into the deadly violence at the Naira and Kobo Motor Park in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
Speaking on Friday, the Deputy Minority Leader also rejected allegations linking him to the violence through one of the suspects arrested by the Osun State Police Command.
The unrest broke out on Monday during an alleged attempt by hoodlums to seize control of the park.
Police said two people were killed and three officers sustained gunshot injuries, while an AK-47 rifle was snatched during the confrontation, raising tension in the community.
The command later announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with the incident.
